services explained :: print resolution
Although quality of print ultimately depends on the printer you are using, any professional printing company will have the best printers available. What looks good on your computer monitor is not guaranteed to retain the same quality when printed.
High quality printers will print your product at a very high resolution. Most digital cameras do not capture photos at resolutions at these levels by default. You must adjust your camera’s settings if you intend on using your digital photos for a print project. Professional Digital photographers should always have original copies of your images in the proper resolution. Another very easy mistake is to create a computer graphic without checking the initial resolution of the file. Most image editing software will create a graphic at 72 dpi (dots per inch) by default. You must adjust these settings at the creation of your document. Failure to do so will result in pixilation when you attempt to re adjust your dpi settings after creating your image.

alanQuandt.com requires that all images are either vector images or images that are originally 200 dpi or greater. Sometime we will require 300 dpi depending on the project, in which case we will inform you before starting work. There are some cases where we will accept lower resolution images for print projects however this is on a per image basis and is very rare.
